I am a licensed clinical psychologist located in Cary, NC providing individual (ages 18-85+) and marital therapy. I have extensive experience working with survivors of traumatic events (combat, sexual assault, childhood abuse, domestic violence, car accidents, and natural disasters) and aiding them in their recovery. I am often inspired by the resilience and fortitude amongst this population. My areas of expertise are PTSD, depression, panic, anxiety, OCD, grief and loss, and emotion regulation. I also specialize in working with couples to improve communication, decrease conflict, enhance intimacy, and address infidelity.
I specialize in various evidence-based therapies, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT for depression and anxiety), Panic Control Treatment (PCT), and couple therapy. I have advanced training in Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy for PTSD and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for emotion regulation and problematic behavior.
My approach to treatment is collaborative and active. I will work with you to understand your unique circumstances, establish personal goals for therapy, and work together to achieve them. My history at the VA and my husband's military service give me a unique perspective in working with military families.
