I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and work primarily with adult individuals and couples in areas of anxiety, depression, parenting, trauma, medical trauma, chronic illness, grief and loss, healthcare workers, infidelity and betrayal. From a 20 year career as a hospital chaplain, I have extensive work with end of life issues, grief and loss, and cultural, religious, racial, economic and gender diversity. I have over twenty years experience providing counseling to adolescents, couples, families and individuals. I have extensive experience working with victims of sexual abuse and trauma. I have helped numerous individuals overcome sexual behavior problems including pornography addictions. I am an empathetic mediator for issues including familial conflict, divorce, custody disputes, and parent/child Alienation is one area of expertise. I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, past trauma and current crisis. Client's describe me as a therapist who genuinely cares, listens and validates their experience while helping them move past the thoughts, behaviors and feelings that are negatively impacting their lives.

I specialize in the treatment of OCD, hoarding disorder, and all other anxiety-related disorders: social anxiety, phobias, panic disorder, PTSD, generalized anxiety, tics, and body-focused repetitive behaviors (e.g., nail-biting). As part of my practice, the primary treatment for these conditions is exposure and response prevention therapy, or ERP. What maybe differentiates my practice from others whose principal therapeutic modality is ERP is that I am able to accept a wide variety of insurances. Additionally, I am one of very few clinicians in the state of Minnesota who specializes in the treatment of hoarding disorder.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) serving the Twin Cities area, passionate about helping and supporting people. Julie graduated from The Adler Graduate School of Minnesota and The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Special Education Teacher, and Parent and Adult Educator. Her specialties include working with families with young children, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with daily functioning or are striving for a more balanced, holistic, and fulfilling lifestyle. Through the use of multiple approaches, including CBT, solution-focused, humanistic, Adlerian, nutrition, and fitness counseling, she facilitates relational living within a systems approach.
