My goal for therapy is to help you get clear on who you are, what you want in life, and how to get there. I am here to support you in developing the skills and tools you need to achieve a life that feels safe, healthy, and fulfilling.

Making the decision to begin therapy/counseling is a big step, and I truly understand and respect the bravery and vulnerability that it takes for clients to reach out to a prospective therapist. Over the past 23 years, I have successfully helped thousands of individual adults, adolescents, children, couples and families to heal from issues related to anxiety, depression, difficulty concentrating, family and couple relationships, divorce, infertility, parenting, adoption, addiction, self-esteem, bullying, life transitions, grief, trauma, and adverse childhood events.

Emily Powers is a pre-licensed counseling professional who is passionate about helping people overcome their challenges & achieve their goals. She earned her BA from St. Edward’s University in 2020, and currently holds a Master's degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology from the University of Hawai’i at Hilo. Emily specializes in assisting individuals navigating the impacts of traumatic exposure. Whether this be recovery from a car accident, sexual assault, time spent in the armed forces, repeated abuse in childhood or another circumstance, Emily strives to facilitate a space of healing for individuals of all backgrounds.

Successful therapy begins with finding a therapist you feel comfortable with. My approach to therapy is warm, empathic, and hopeful. Clients are the experts of their lives and they will determine the direction and depth of their healing. I strive to provide a safe and supportive environment where people can share their stories and develop a deeper understanding of feelings, thoughts, patterns, and challenges. I have a passion for helping others understand their strengths, overcome personal obstacles, move towards wholeness, and thrive.

Harley Derrickson, BA is a pre-licensed counseling professional eager to work with Oahu residents who need assistance achieving their personal goals and overcoming various life challenges. He was born and raised on Oahu’s North Shore and offers a unique and shared understanding of the complex set of challenges that the indigenous Kānaka Maoli population faces, both inside and outside of the therapeutic space. As a clinician, Harley draws insight from his experience working as a K-12 general and special education teacher in Oahu’s leeward district, and his experience as a Mental Emotional Social Health (MESH) coordinator.

Aloha, I am a Couples and Family Therapist. My approach emphasizes the importance of working with a couple and family as a system that influence one another. To restructure healthy relationships, I use therapies that promote positive interactions between individuals. My methods include trans-generational, structural family therapy, cognitive-behavioral approaches, and Gottman Therapy. I use exercises such as enactments to help clients set new appropriate boundaries, build love maps to improve interactions and establish loving communication.

I have a passion for empowering women to experience healthy emotions and mindsets, develop connected relationships, and reach their personal goals. Despite stressors and challenges, I believe we are all capable of thriving in the life we have today. I use an integrative approach, combining the latest brain science with faith-based practices. I have served women and couples in ministry for more than 10 years and completed my Masters in Counseling through Liberty University, as well as a Christian Life Coaching Certification. Along with my husband and 3 teenage daughters, I am a long-time resident of Oahu, Hawaii.

I also love food. I am dedicated to working with children. It is my life's passion to help, serve, and help others get to the next level of their well being. I am solution focused so we don't spend a lot of time on your past experiences, however it helps to hear and know your story to understand who you are today and your generational influences. Aloha! My name is Koala Matsuoka, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and I grew up on the beautiful island of Oahu. As a therapist, my goal is to always show my clients support and provide a safe space for them to feel heard and understood. I am interested in working with different age ranges, from early childhood to adulthood. I would also like to work with athletes at different levels and those going through life transitions.

Being our most resilient, healthy self is a process of acceptance and skill building. It is particularly hard when anger, sadness, and worry get in the way of connecting with others, advancing professionally, or maintaining health. It is important to have a safe place to process and solve life transitions without judgment. I utilize evidenced based psychotherapy and assessment to restore value based cognitions, mindfulness and healthy behaviors. Specialized treatment planning is the first stage of the process. Adults, adolescents, couples, and specialized assessment cases (ages 7 to 80+) are encouraged to schedule a consultation appointment.
