Challenges are difficult, by definition. I work collaboratively with children, adolescents and their families to engage meaningfully in these experiences through a personal, yet professional relationship. Empathetic in my approach, I focus on the developmentally appropriate growth of the individual and family in their shared work. Optimistic through continued steps of action, I have a Cognitive-Behavioral orientation in my work. For many families, children and adolescents, such an approach has been found to be extremely beneficial.
I have worked in a variety of clinical and educational settings supporting the mental health needs of students and parents. After completing my internship, I worked in a public high school as a school psychologist for several years before shifting my attention and professional focus to more administrative duties.
As a result of my continued work in the educational setting and clinical setting, the connection between the child’s/adolescent’s various spheres of life related to school, family and clinical support has remained an integral aspect to my work.
