This 8 week group will focus on the following skillsets of DBT: (1) Mindfulness, (2) Emotion Regulation, (3) Distress Tolerance, (4) Interpersonal Effectiveness. These DBT skill groups differ from conventional "process" groups where individuals openly express emotions, thoughts, and viewpoints for discussion. Instead, a DBT Skills group closely resembles an "emotional intelligence" class. While sharing is certainly encouraged and occurs, and members can provide mutual support within their comfort levels, the primary focus of the group lies in acquiring DBT skills through a classroom-style approach.

A psychoeducational support group for adult survivors of abuse. This group is designed for those who are beginning this healing process as well as those building upon and continuing toward greater wholeness. Care is taken to maintain a safe environment for each member and the group as a whole. This group utilizes individual and group exercises in order to build a foundation for safety, insight and integration. Healing happens through processing and integrating feelings, thoughts, perceptions and behaviors. The goal is to help individuals attain higher quality of living by gaining greater self-awareness and tools for healing.
