All emotions have a job - to bring something to our attention, to give us information about our world, sometimes to give us the physical energy to take action. I can be a guide and an ally through many challenges - these include depression and anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, caregiving, life-threatening illnesses, grief and loss. I believe all pain stems from disconnection. Disconnection from self, others, and a greater belonging to the natural world. As a social species, we need love and support from one another to thrive and co-create a felt sense of safety. I believe each individual has everything they need within themselves to heal and the stable presence of another supports this natural healing process. Whether you are struggling with feelings of anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief, or feel it is time to change relationship dynamics or behavioral or thought patterns, I am honored to assist you in making meaningful internal and external change.

You feel stuck and don’t know what to do next, wishing you could stay in bed forever. What used to be easy now feels overwhelming. Your deepest fear is that you’re inherently bad, defective, "too much," unworthy, or unlovable. You might feel alone, isolated, frightened, angry, lost, or even enraged. If you’re queer, trans, gender nonbinary, neurodivergent, disabled, chronically ill, fat, or bigger-bodied, you’re welcome here. If you struggle with depression, anxiety, bereavement, disordered eating, or body image issues—no matter your age or if you’re seeking “outside help”—you belong. You are the expert on your own experience.

Working from a more holistic approach to therapy, integrating both somatic and transpersonal facets to our conscious experience of life, I assist clients, through mindfulness, meditation, dreams and expressive arts to access, trust and develop strengths, attributes and resources to cope with anxiety, depression, body dysphoria, pain, grief and loss.
I choose to see life's challenges as invitations to know ourselves more honestly, and to accept ourselves as we are. I believe that when individuals are self-aware they experience life as more meaningful and challenges as less distressing. I help individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions and relationship issues, to embrace their wholeness and strengthen inner resources not yet recognized. From this place of knowing and alternate or adjusted perspective, individuals develop compassion for self and other, gain confidence in relationships, and feel more assured in their ability to address the challenges life presents.

We will collaborate together to discover ways to break unhealthy patterns, tame anxious thoughts, work through grief, manage stress, and improve communication skills so you can speak up for yourself.
There is no time like the present to get help. Maybe you’re looking to learn how to cope with current issues that are stressful or maybe you’re ready to tackle old issues that eat away at you. Old or new, I understand that stress results in depression, anxiety, persistent worry, grief, feeling hopeless and alone, and damaged self-esteem. Mood, thought patterns, relationships, and job performance suffer and can feel dreadful. I am able to help you work through stress and trauma, in order to better manage your life regardless of the root cause. Change is always possible!

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
