Whether this is your first time in therapy, or you have been to therapy before, I respect the fact that you are reaching out. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and address your concerns. Prior to the first session I will send you a form to complete, which will ask you several background questions. This will be very helpful as we get to know each other. We will do a preliminary treatment plan, where we will discuss your treatment goals and how you might start achieving them. Of course, feel free to ask any questions you may have. I want us to be a team. Please email me with any questions that you may have and times available.
Among the conditions I work with are depression, anxiety, substance use, relationship concerns, life transitions, trauma and sexual orientation/identity. I am comfortable treating dual disorders: mental health and addictions. I use a Client-centered, eclectic approach to therapy, using a variety of modalities.
Besides my educational and professional experiences, I have gone through my own life experiences and challenges. Reaching out for support is a strength. I aim to bring out your strengths to achieve your goals. I may challenge you at times to help you achieve those goals. Of course this will be done in a safe way.
