Timothy brings a therapeutic and holistic approach to his work with his clients. He is passionate about supporting populations like those involved in the criminal justice system, LGBTQIA+, youth, adults with serious mental health challenges and in particular, treating chronic trauma and substance use. Timothy is a therapist that believes there is no one size fits all approach to therapy, and that through a mixture of clinical skills and relational work, he must adapt and evolve with each client’s needs and goals. He blends psychodynamic, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral, and internal family systems.
I approach every client individually, with less focus on diagnosis, and much more on relational connection. Clients can expect a warm and disarming approach to exploring themselves. I very much embrace the metaphor of the client as the pilot and the therapist as the navigator. As trust and safety are established, that is when I will utilize different skills.
