I seek to create a therapeutic space that is validating towards my clients’ identities and lived experiences. I believe both the client and counselor have expertise and insight to bring to the collaborative therapeutic relationship. Together, we can curiously explore feelings, thoughts, identity, life events, meaning, and stressors as I believe increased self-awareness is key in addressing deeply-rooted anxieties and tensions and distressing thoughts and emotions.
I typically utilize an integrated cognitive-behavioral and existential approach as a well-rounded and holistic means to learn skills, identify and express emotions and needs, and promote growth and healing. I also have training in Brainspotting, a brain-body therapy that is used for treating trauma and other emotional processing.
