Hi, my name is Glenna Hawn. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I enjoy working with individuals who are feeling stuck and helping them create positive change. I believe positive change happens when we focus on what is happening now and identify what we need to do to move forward. I value the intrinsic strength and wisdom of the individual and feel they know best what is needed for themselves. My approach to therapy is as a supportive presence in that process and to provide insight and skills along the way.
I have extensive training in dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy as well as family systems theory. I enjoy working with individuals as they adjust through life’s stages.
I have experience treating anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, grief and loss, postpartum depression and perinatal loss, relationship struggles, trauma, and major life changes and events. I am a good listener with a direct but calm and empathetic approach. My hope is that individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered.
