As a music therapy intern, a client that would find me ideal is one that has a strong connection to music. This client is also interested in reaching goals related to their emotional, spiritual, and/or physical health, or is an individual looking to improve their cognitive, interpersonal, communicative, or behavioral skills. If traditional therapy has not worked for you or your child in the past, if you feel like you need a form of therapy that feels less intimidating and more creatively stimulating, or if you just love music and want to understand how to use it therapeutically in your own life, music therapy might be for you!
I specialize in music therapy, the evidence-based use of music to achieve specific, therapeutic goals. I have used a wide range of music therapy techniques to help teach coping skills and improve mental health in young adults, improve and build behavioral and interpersonal skills in adolescents, and develop speech and language and social skills in toddlers.
If you or your child are motivated by music and need a different kind of therapy to achieve the goals you want to achieve, I would be happy to help assist you on your journey.
