I also specialize in working with survivors of narcissistic abuse and other manipulative personality disorders.
I am a strong believer in therapy! There is a true advantage in talking through problems with someone who can offer objective feedback. A therapist can offer a different insight from friends and family. I believe that therapy is all about communication, both verbal and physical.

I specialize in narcissistic abuse recovery and my counseling services can help you identify the signs of narcissism and develop a plan to move forward.
I whole-heartedly believe that the answers we are looking for are deep within. My role as a therapist is to support others by listening and helping them problem-solve in an empathetic and non-judgmental manner. We will work collaboratively to identify/utilize effective skills to break through the barriers in order to bring about lasting change. As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating.

I specialize in working with clients who have experienced narcissistic abuse. As an adult child of a narcissist myself, I know all too well how difficult it is to get help and to heal. Narcissism isn't necessarily overt abuse, especially for children, and it is often hard to figure out why you feel depressed, anxious, struggle with perfectionism, or keep finding yourself in codependent relationships as adults. Narcissistic abuse is trauma and it can keep you in survival mode for a very long time. As trauma therapist, I would love to help you learn to thrive, to find joy, to be free, and really live your own life. We do heal!

I specialize in Narcissistic Abuse, Childhood Abuse, and Complex PTSD/Trauma therapy.
Online in Tennessee & Georgia. You've been in a cycle of toxic relationships that make you feel crazy and not good enough. You're a people pleaser and a perfectionist. You worry about everyone else's feelings but your own. You wonder, "am I the narcissist?" Maybe you've tried to set boundaries with a parent, but still feel misunderstood, criticized, or invalidated. You believe your childhood was difficult but then rationalize that it "wasn't that bad." You won't call it trauma or abuse but then what was it?

Accepting new clients! Private pay, but can give Superbills for reimbursement with your insurance. I've experienced the looping cycle of love vs chaos in narcissistic-codependent relationships. I understand the traumatic effects of divorce, single-and-co-parenting, poverty, hitting the bottom, starting over. I know the shame, the hurt of emotional manipulation by a religious group. I've lived on "both sides of ministry leadership". I've discovered the power in allowing someone to walk alongside even in the ugly stuff; learning to be vulnerable is hard, and brave. I will hear you, not just from "intellect" but from having lived life.

One of my areas of interest is helping people recover from dysfunctional or narcissistic relationships.
Do you struggle with depression, anxiety, relationship conflict, or trauma? Are you experiencing emotional abuse from someone close to you such as a parent, sibling, co-worker, in-law, or spouse? Have you ever been in a dysfunctional or narcissistic relationship and hoped it would change or get better? When you try to set healthy boundaries have you received tremendous pushback and anger from those around you? Please know that you are not alone. Many other people have felt the way you do. There is a way to deal with difficult people and develop a happier and more fulfilling life for yourself.

Trauma and Neglect Survivors - I specialize in working with survivors of childhood, generational, and neurodiverse trauma - specifically adult children of narcissistic, emotionally immature and mentally unstable parents. Through understanding, compassion, playfulness, and sharing information, I will walk with you on your healing journey. Developmental trauma is sometimes hard to see, because for those who grew up in it, it was just normal. We were taught to keep secrets, be hypervigilant, and to do and become what the people around us needed so we could survive. Those coping skills helped us survive, but now are in our way.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Therapists

What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?

By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?

Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?

It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
