Do you struggle with having healthy boundaries, communicating your needs, or owning your desires in relationship? Perhaps you have lived through trauma or abuse that has left you feeling empty, alone, or unworthy of the love that you really want. When your body no longer feels like a safe place, it's easy to become disconnected from it, or even totally neglect it. You may have turned to substances to numb yourself out, or perhaps you simply learned to experience the world through your mind with little connection to what's happening in your somatic experience. Sometimes even pleasurable experiences can feel overwhelming.
The sensitivity of my nature and the trauma that resulted in my nervous system made it unsafe to feel the aliveness in my body. I became a somatic therapist because of the recognition that I could no longer feel a sense of wholeness simply from experiencing the world with my mind, but would need to reconnect to the sensations and memories in my body.
My journey to becoming a therapist was a path to my own healing. I can relate, in my own unique way, to most of the experiences my clients share with me. I have over 13 years experience as a therapist, relationship coach, and medicine woman, yet ground my work in the deep experiential knowledge of life.
