For the past 40+ years, I have worked with a significant number of clients facing a wide range of psychological, substance abuse, and relationship problems. Working with you, we identify the primary and often underlying issues causing stress and dysfunctional behaviors. Common psychological issues for the majority of clients today are depression and anxiety, followed by family/relationship problems and substance abuse. That is the bad news; the good news is that help is available, and no one must suffer alone. We will develop a plan of treatment and begin integrating changes in your life, inviting joy, peace, and fulfillment.
My therapeutic approach includes a variety of therapy theories but primarily centers on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Much of my training focuses on educational psychology, which permits me to identify disorders and teach my clients to acknowledge their needs and ways to minimize or eliminate problematic stressors.
My clients benefit from an extensive background in providing mental health services for a wide range of mental health disorders. In the past, I worked as a staff mental health counselor, supervisor of a residential substance abuse center, administrator for a regional mental health agency, and owner of four private state-licensed counseling centers.
