Hi, I’m Garrett Shotwell, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. In therapy, my goal is to foster a safe environment and for you to create space in your life. Once there, I believe in helping you tend to the parts that need healing, accepting and integrating so you can feel centered in your authentic self. I also believe in the deep healing power of feeling seen and using the therapeutic relationship as a way to safely practice how to be.
I specialize in a wide range of clinical presentations, some of which include: symptoms of depression, anxiety, and trauma. I work with a wide range of populations, specializing in LGBTQIA+ communities. My clients are eager to get to do the emotional work, and know that I'm patiently there with them, guiding them and giving them the tools as needed.
Reaching out isn't easy. Therapy is hard work, but you're not alone. I believe in transparency, in the first session especially, and I always encourage collaboration and curiosity... Therapy is a relationship, after all. :)
