When you become aware of yourself feeling anxious, depressed, or alone - you may wonder to yourself, how can I change or is change even possible for me? I believe that change happens within the context of being in connection with others; a felt sense of safety being the key component to be your most authentic self. I see clients who are wanting to grow in curiosity of their story, expand their awareness of themselves in and out of relationships, explore learning how to sit with unprocessed emotions, and build skills to be present with self and others.
I believe the client is the master of their story and I am a guide in the process. A part of my approach as a counselor is to bring a collaborative and supportive environment. My methods are influenced by attachment theory, trauma-informed care, and emotion-focused methods to assist in expanding capacity to become more present with self and others.
Starting out, it can feel nerve-wracking to begin the process of counseling. I encourage you to lean in and be as open as possible throughout your process. I look forward to meeting you and experiencing the great privilege of journeying alongside you. Refer to the website tab to find out more information about me and the practice.
