I view my clients as fellow human beings in search of some type of change. For one reason or another, they feel stuck or unable to get where they want. I find that often these patterns were somehow adaptive, but are now "outdated" for life's current situation. These present as anxiety, trouble establishing a sense of identity, depression, lack/trouble maintaining motivation, difficulty sustaining/developing interpersonal relationships, familial conflict, poor academic performance, and underdeveloped communication skills. I help my clients understand how their brains are affected and how it can translate to their behaviors and perceptions of the world. I provide a space in session for clients to practice new skills so they feel better prepared for application.
