I work with clients on an integrative and holistic wellness basis. I specialize in working with competitive athletes and first responders; emphasizing body-centered interventions including fitness, breath work, and nutrition. Previously, I pioneered unique endeavors at the University of West Georgia as liaison between counseling, integrative wellness, and Division 1 athletics. In the past I have focused on adult and adolescent personality disorders, and the utilization of psychodynamic, person-centered, mentalization-based, DBT, and play therapy modalities.

Over the years, I have worked for several organizations and programs meeting the needs of all age groups. I'm very passionate and care deeply about helping others. I was licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2005. I received my M.S. (2000) at Jacksonville State University. I am encouraged by individuals genuinely working to resolve life conflicts and struggles.

I am a licensed professional counselor with extensive work with clients and is comprised of managing anxiety disorders, depression disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, and numerous other personality and mood disorders. My therapeutic techniques include person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based therapy, and reality therapy. I believe in the significance of helping others feel inner peace and find purpose in life.

I have worked extensively with adolescents, at risk children, and adults who suffer from anxiety, depression, anger management issues, self-esteem issues, behavioral issues, and substance abuse issues. I also work with children and adults who have suffered trauma and experience symptoms of PTSD, ADHD, and ADD. I sometimes incorporate physical activity into the therapeutic process. This "active therapy" can be especially helpful in working with issues of self esteem, anxiety, depression, and addiction. In addition to "active therapy", I have also found that meditation and mindfulness can be especially helpful for children who have trouble with focus and concentration.

I have worked with various clients with a multitude of issues that are primarily substance use related. In addition to substance use disorders, many also have family discord, loss of employment, housing and hope. Their goals are to gain coping skills, relapse prevention education, stress and anger management management to deal with past unresolved issues that includes and not limited to PTSD, child abuse abuse and neglect, life stressors, and to learn how to develop and sty connected to a supportive network while becoming productive in all areas of their lives.
