Hello everyone! My name is Ryan Lindenmuth, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. I have been a mental health professional for three and a half years, providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and coaching counseling to clients in need of a little assistance. I am a licensed psychologist specializing in individual and family therapy in the Vinings/ Smyrna/ North Atlanta area - more specifically I work with children (10+), adolescents, younger adults, and their families. While I have experience assisting clients with a variety of issues, my areas of expertise include: High Functioning Autism, Substance Abuse, Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma-Related Problems. It is important to understand that low self-esteem, social anxiety, peer difficulties, and behavioral issues are common manifestations of the aforementioned problems as well.

I specialize in working with people who are experiencing increased anxiety and stress, struggling with panic and responses to past trauma, and navigating daily-life with obsessions and compulsions. I know that awareness brings change. One of the greatest tasks then for therapy is to gain insight and understanding as to what leads to feeling sad, anxious, and panicked. So often our first desire is to get rid of these experiences, but as we demonstrate the courage to understand and accept all parts of ourselves, we gain access to balance, self-guidance, and peace that is often missing in life.

I have been meeting with individuals and couples for over 35 years. I specialize in helping individuals and couples learn how to communicate more effectively. Coming from an unstable childhood, I understood the importance of building and maintaining positive relationships. By the time I graduated from high school, I lived in 22 different homes and went to 10 different schools. I would later earn my Bachelors and Masters Degree from South Carolina State University, become a Licensed Professional Counselor, and developed a passion for assisting others with embracing and overcoming adversity and develop a positive mindset for a successful life. I founded Courage & Motivation Psychotherapy and Coaching Inc. in 2009 to create a platform to motivate and elevate clients in the state of GA.

My therapeutic philosophy is based on the quote from Albert Einstein, “Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Many people let false beliefs about themselves hold them back from reaching self-actualization. Everyone deserves to reach the realization or fulfillment of one's talents and potentialities, but sometimes we find ourselves as the fish Einstein describes attempting to climb a tree because we let anxiety, depression, and past trauma become barriers to our fulfillment.

I’ve always been passionate about children in care and helping others, and practiced psychotherapy in England before coming to the US. I have a Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychotherapy, with specializations in behavior analysis, person-centered and humanistic approaches.
