Hi, my name is Joyelle Hines. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been a therapist for over ten years. My therapy style is compassionate but direct and honest. I am experienced with individuals experiencing Stress, Anxiety, Relationship issues, Family conflicts, and HIV/AIDS; I am also experienced in Addictions, Career challenges, Depression, Coping with life changes, Compassion fatigue, and bipolar disorder. Utilizing multiple modalities of evidenced-based practices such as Adolescent and Adult Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA) (for substance use), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy have been effective with treatment outcomes. I have experience working with adolescent, young adult, and adult populations.

Teri’s theoretical orientation is primarily based on CBT, solution focused interventions, and a 12 step model of addiction. She also uses expressive arts to help clients work through their feelings and thoughts in a different way when conversation reaches a “stuck” point and talk therapy is not enough. It is my belief that events happen in patterns - some healthy, some unhealthy. As we explore the presenting problem, I help my clients to recognize and explore patterns. Between sessions, I assign homework that includes journaling & worksheets exploring automatic thoughts.
