With these issues, it can be difficult to understand how to get where you're going, or even where you want to go. These issues can impact your life on every level. These levels can be personal, professional, social, emotional, physical, societal, spiritual, cultural or even undefined. Together, let's work to find balance, purpose, intention, clarity, healing, your voice... and even a "game plan" to help you cope with and live your best life.

At any given moment you can make the decision to live the life you desire. When we avoid addressing our past and present issues, we may develop unhealthy thinking patterns, behaviors and ways of coping that we don't even recognize. & although we may not recognize that these things are happening, it can easily lead to confusion, self doubt, anxiety, fear and even sadness. Healing and transformation are easier said than done and there is nothing wrong with connecting to a professional you can identify with to help you with the process.

"Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness." -Desmond Tutu When we can hear our complete inner voice, we are able to begin tearing away from shame and move toward hope. Relationships & community are the most important parts of our life. This can include relationship with your spouse/partner, family, friends, spirituality, self, etc. Family and friends are a wonderful resource in order to better our relationships but sometimes we need a different place to talk about who we are, what we are struggling with, and how to make sense of our lives.

I am passionate about walking alongside individuals who feel beat down and weary from life’s burdens. Life is not easy, but having someone with an outside view can really help provide the clarity and insight we need. If you are hurting, struggling to stay hopeful, or having trouble finding direction, I would be honored to hear your story and walk with you towards hope and healing.

Life has a way of happening - without our permission and whether or not we like it. Sometimes, we shake it off and other times we need help in growing from experiences so that we do not become stuck - so that we become better vs. bitter. My intention is to create an environment where you feel supported as we explore the darker parts of your journey when you may have lost sight of the light. I would also love to celebrate with you as we find gems along the way.

Day-to-day life can be exhausting. Maybe you were laying your child down for bed, and they said something that scared you or maybe your family is going through transitions, and you're worried about how they are responding to it. Through the therapeutic relationship, I join alongside children (ages 3-12), families, and individuals to provide an empathic, welcoming place where fears and hopelessness can be replaced with coping skills and a greater understanding of oneself. I work with children experiencing big emotions, behavioral/school difficulties, anxiety, self-esteem, and low social engagement.

My target is to eliminate the intimidating nature of therapy and the agony of self-help books. A land between counseling and coaching that does not answer to the confines of psychotherapy nor the pressure of life-coaching. An exploration of lifestyle, physical health, nutrition, family, and experience. It takes tremendous courage to choose to walk through difficult places on the path towards healing, and it takes even more courage to invite a counselor to walk with you. I consider it an honor to join with my clients as they face the challenges in life, whether it be wounds from the past , struggles with managing mood and thoughts, issues with relational functioning, sexuality or unhealthy coping. I believe there is power in relationship and I consider it a joy to help clients learn how to better relate to themselves, others and the world around them.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
