My goal is to help my clients identify and meet their own needs, whether to address a specific emerging issue, to manage existing mental health challenges, or to just gain a greater sense of peace and serenity in their lives.

I believe everything is about perspective and what we make out of it. Whether you are dealing with daily stressors such as work, parenting, or relationship issues or a major life stressor/trauma, the root of not being able to manage these things is our perception of the trauma. If you’re ready to take things in a new direction and improve your overall quality of life via your mental health, then no need to look any further.

I am enthusiastic about working with those motivated to begin their counseling journey. In my previous career as a teacher, I developed effective skills for working with children, adolescents, and adults. I typically work with teens and adults who struggle to adjust after experiencing trauma, particularly sexual trauma and interpersonal violence. I am deeply passionate about working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community through coming out, life transitions, and marital and couples issues. Additionally, I enjoy working through issues of interpersonal relationships, depression, anxiety, and with adults with ADHD and/or Autism.

I would be honored to walk along side you in your journey to health and well being. My clinical interests include anxiety and depression, trauma, sexual addiction problems, couples therapy, parenting skills, past childhood attachment issues, the integration of faith in the healing process, communication patterns and the role of the family in growth and change.

My treatment philosophy is based on the belief that the practice of self-discovery creates more room for you to live your life to its fullest potential. Unfortunately, mental, emotional and relationship challenges can severly impeed your efforts. By weaving together behavioral, cognitive, developmental, personality and systems theories of psychology; many of the challenges can be resolved. In addition, the spiritual beliefs and religious traditions of each individual are explored. For many, this experience facilitates living more authentically and cultivates a compassionate understanding of self with a spirit of confidence that paves the way for greater accomplishment in all aspects of life.

Recovery is possible! We are all capable of changing, healing, and growing. I support adults, couples, and families who are experiencing relational conflict, depression, grief, anxiety, life stress, life transitional periods (e. g. divorce, job loss, midlife transformations), serious mental illness, and other struggles as well. I am especially passionate about supporting adults recovering from substance use disorders (addiction) and their families.

For many reasons asking for help can be hard. But finally being in a safe and non-judgmental place, receiving validation, being listened to and understood is what you deserve and can have. I offer this support and together we will explore areas of concern at your pace in order to identify ways to manage and resolve issues. You do not need struggle alone. I work with individuals as well as partners so that the negative cycles end and overwhelming stress is lightened. There are understandable reasons for all your distress, but anxiety, depression, toxic patterns and behaviors do not have to define you or the way you live.

The challenges of life in today's society presents the need for behavioral and mental health services like never before. I have twenty-four years of experience in providing outpatient therapy to children, adolescents, and adults in order to assist them in overcoming the effects of these challenges. I utilize a solution-focused approach, because I believe that there is always a solution to every problem! I enjoy helping people understand that they have the ability to effectively cope with their emotions and life situations, which therefore enables them to live their best lives.

Sometimes life is difficult and you feel like there's no solution to your problems. Sometimes you feel trapped by your feelings of sadness and hopelessness and you don't see a way out. Well, there is a way out and that way out is therapy. As a therapist, I believe in the healing properties of a therapeutic relationship.
