I work with adolescents and young adults who want to process through difficult emotions to create healthier patterns in their life. I believe that each individual should have the opportunity to know and understand their authentic self. My goal is to create a safe space, free of judgment, where you can feel supported and begin your healing journey. By meeting you wherever you are, we can begin to identify the negative patterns that are hindering your growth. Through my own experience as a client, I have come to believe in the healing qualities of the therapeutic relationship. In addition to my training, I also bring life experience which I use to try to understand your unique perspective. I work to help you draw on your own inner strengths to overcome adversities and thrive in life. I believe in the innate value of all people and want to help individuals and couples heal from past wounds, build stronger relationships and achieve their best lives. I utilize evidenced-based and practical techniques to get the most out of our time together.

You hurt when your child hurts. As their parent, you just want to ease their pain. Being unable to do this can be heart-breaking but also frustrating and exhausting. Communication can require so much energy. Sometimes those efforts even cause conflict between you and your child. These times are confusing and difficult for everyone in the home. Children, teens, and adults face a variety of challenges. Peer interactions, school/life transitions, developmental changes, increased stressors, navigating emotions, and responsibilities are all a part of the growing up process, but can place significant tension on the family unit.

Are you frustrated by your child's behavior? Children communicate through behavior. Exploring the meaning of challenging behaviors can help identify obstacles that may be preventing a child from expressing and managing strong feelings, from developing meaningful/effective relationships, and from coping with stress. The clients I typically see are resilient and want things to improve. This can mean different things I am here to help you determine how best to make this happen. I see working with the family, as well as the child, as critically important.

I am a clinical therapist with almost 20 years of experience in working with children and adolescents in the school setting. I received my Bachelor's in Sociology from the University of West Georgia and Master's in Social Work from Clark Atlanta University. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, suicidal ideations, grief and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice who enjoys working with a variety of people and needs. Whether you are seeking assistance with stress management, anxiety, depression, grief, life transition or career-related issues, it is my desire to help you develop insight and find satisfying resolution to your concerns. My approach is to first listen carefully to you to understand your needs and wishes. As your goals for change are identified, I will work with you to help you determine and initiate an appropriate plan for change to confidently move forward in your life.

As a therapist, our purpose is to reflect back what people bring to us in a way that allows them to unlock their own doors. Emotional development in people of all ages is an ongoing cycle throughout the lifespan. Dr. Fish began her career as a Music Therapist, and later returned to obtain her doctorate in clinical psychology which she completed in 2002. Treatment can include individual, family or group therapy based on specific needs. Clinical supervision for practitioners working towards licensure is also available.
