We provide counseling for mental health and substance use disorders.
Health is "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." To link behavioral risk factors to outcomes so that early interventions can begin, we (Populations and Interventions Teams Company, PITC) address correlated conditions. We strive to make client experiences less complicated but complete, considering the lack of transportation in our rural areas, using evidence-based public health practices and behavioral health practice modalities. We collaborate to achieve treatment goals that would result in improved health outcomes.

A unique approach to psychotherapy. ART is unique because the ART Therapist guides the client to replace the negative images in the mind that cause the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress with positive images of the client’s choosing. Once the negative images have been replaced by positive ones, the triggers will be gone. Imagine, if you can, what it feels like to carry a heavy burden for years and then, all of a sudden, be able to let it go – years of carrying the effects of trauma gone during a single session with an ART therapist, This type of relief may seem unbelievable, but it does happen consistently with the use of A.R.T.

What I want clients to know about me! I believe your dreams and goals are bigger than the obstacles you face. I have learned there is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn't! What can clients expect from me: Clients can expect honesty, compassion, and empathy. Also, clients can expect a safe environment where you can share thoughts and feelings, set your own goals, receive insight into your experiences, and identify some options for handling issues in healthy ways.

Wherever you’ve been, however you’ve arrived, I’m glad you are here. To me, therapy is about taking time and space to listen to our bodies and emotions, with the hope of allowing us to reconnect with our inherent wisdom. We don't lose touch with this wisdom by accident. Trauma, unhealed wounds, and oppression separate us from our wisdom and intuition, and impact our ability to access all parts of ourselves. You and your body carry so much, from the grief and resilience of those who came before you, to the stress of everyday life. You were never meant to carry it all on your own.

I work with people who struggle with anxiety, mood swings, addictions, and marital problems. Life can be difficult at times, especially when we feel isolated. So often, we wear masks for the benefit of those around us, while inside we suffer and abuse ourselves. Few people are truly the person that their friends perceive them to be on the inside.Fewer still are those completely at peace with themselves. We all sometimes need another person to listen to us, provide encouragement, and help us stay on the right track. Opening up can be painful, but it is also the first step toward healing the wounds hidden within.

Substance Use Therapists
How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.
How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.
How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.
Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?
There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
