In my office I offer clients a warm and supportive therapeutic environment where issues can be successfully addressed and resolved. But it is only with the client's effort and desire to change that psychotherapy is most successuful. Through the years I have found that a direct approach in therapy is most valuable as it allows us both to target those beliefs and behaviors which may require change.

I am a highly experienced and versatile psychologist. I specialize in helping men deal with both typical and atypical issues, concerns and life problems. Men encounter a wide-range of issues such as: career dissatisfaction, anger management, relationship concerns, various addictions, anxiety, depression, sexual and career performance issues, estrangement, and impulse control. Life introduces a number of challenges and stressors that can be short-lived or persistent. Treatment involves exploring how you understand and engage with what you may be experiencing. Using a collaborative approach informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, my aim is to help clients manage distress with curiosity and acceptance, engage with what truly matters, and develop a more authentic relationship with the world around them.

Kristin J. Carothers, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and Cognitive Behavioral therapist specializing in he diagnosis and treatment of psychological symptoms for children, adolescents and adults. Additionally, she has extensive experience in behavioral Parent Management Training consulting with intact and separated families. Dr. Carothers' training and expertise includes providing evidence based interventions for teachers, students, and administrators in school settings.
