For as long as you can remember, perfectionism and people-pleasing have been your superpowers. Over the years, you’ve been described by others as conscientious, a hard worker, and maybe even an overachiever. But secretly, part of you actually believes that you’re an imposter and you’re terrified that people will eventually figure it out. Even worse, the thought of disappointing someone or telling them, “No,” overwhelms you with guilt. You wonder who you are without the approval of others, and you question your ability to trust your decisions. In short, you constantly feel like you have to manage other people's perceptions of you.

I am Susan Adams, licensed Marriage and Family therapist and licensed Professional Counselor, in private practice for over 41 years. My best credential is that I have been married for 43 years and have raised one daughter, numerous cousins, and am currently owned by two wonderful Boston Terriers. I am a Clinical Member and an Approved supervisor for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. The latter means that I teach and credential other therapists who are looking for state licensure or clinical membership in our professional organization.

My ideal client is the person that wants more out of life but may be unsure of how to get it, someone that may be afraid to take that first step, but is willing to let me hold their hand and take a peek into the other side.

She focuses on Trauma Informed Expressive Art Therapy for sexual abuse, Domestic Violence, Physical Abuse, and other traumas. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Clayton State University and received her Master of Arts in School Counseling from Capella University.

Dr. Matthew Williams is a Licensed Psychologist who sees children, adolescents, adults and the geriatric population. Dr. Williams has experience working in private practice, inpatient settings, college counseling, forensics and corrections. His specialties include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychosis, personality disorders, dual diagnosis, grief and loss, and psychological testing as well as other specialties.
