May I introduce myself, I am Fred S Harris, LCSW, licensed in California to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience. I have worked in community mental health, private practice, on military installations, as a staff member at major research medical centers, and with a nongovernmental agency providing services to severely and persistently mentally ill adults. What is different about working with me? First and foremost, you will be treated as a "client" not a "patient". The focus of engagement will be a conscious intention to understand you within your own unique environment.
When working with clients I can draw on a vast reservoir of life experience, professional education, and clinical wisdom to assist in working through various issues of concern, such as adjustment to change, relationship distress, parenting challenges, substance use/abuse, coping with past trauma, and facing the reality of unsettling medical events.
