I have extensive experience in counseling and crisis management with children, teens, adults and the elderly population. I specialize in anxiety, bipolar disorder along with mood and depressive disorders. I have significant experience in helping clients recognize their thought patterns with a focus on the prevention of suicide, authoring books, " Knockout: SI Thoughts" and "Look! See? I Don't Feel Like Me.
I use a multitude of techniques in meeting each person's needs by first focusing on where each person is emotionally and mentally at the present moment. The first meeting will always be a guide to assist with processing thinking patterns, regulating emotions and motivating each person towards learning new adaptive coping skills towards becoming healthier.
Success in therapy will always be measured by each person being able to recognize they are improving and learning to manage some of their symptoms. The goal is for each person to walk away on day one, with at least one adaptive coping skill.
