Hey there, I'm a Mental Health Clinician at Ellie Mental Health Aurora, and I'm all about bringing the sunshine to my clients' mental wellness journey! Armed with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Illinois State University (with a Criminal Justice minor, no less!) and a Master's degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, I've been exploring the human mind for five years now. My areas of expertise include forensic psychology, crisis intervention, trauma, eating disorders, mood disorders, and emotional regulation. Amy has a master’s degree in forensic psychology and she has been practicing in the field for over 13 years. Her clinical expertise includes having worked in a variety of clinical settings such as residential, community mental health centers, hospitals, and correctional settings. Amy has experience working with adolescents, emerging adults and adults who present with life stressors/changes, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, binge eating disorder, bariatric patients, issues related to legal issues/incarceration, trauma, domestic violence, sexual abuse, and sex and sexuality concerns.

In my therapy practice, I specialize in creating an empathic and supportive environment. I will work to empower and guide you to develop healthy coping strategies, deeper more satisfying relationships, and the skills and space to process your emotions and move forward.

I am interested in helping individuals, families, and couples who are confronted with difficult challenges in their personal and professional lives. This includes marital obstacles of infidelity, marital stagnation, and partner abuse. It is also my desire to serve those struggling with issues of substance abuse and process addictions; such as pornography, compulsive sexual behaviors, and histories of sexual abuse. In addition, I look forward to helping teens and adolescents who find themselves struggling in areas of social relations, academic progress, and/or who are frequently in trouble at school or with the law due to challenging personal behaviors.

Dr. Heidi Ramirez is currently a post-doctoral psychologist. She graduated with a doctorate of psychology (Psy.D.) in clinical forensic psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles Campus. Her clinical experience consists of working with underserved populations, specifically with incarcerated adolescents and adult males. She began her training with children and adolescents who were assigned to a trauma-informed charter school in Los Angeles, CA and completed her pre-doctoral internship at a forensic psychological private practice in Tempe, AZ.

Veesser is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with expertise working with kids from toddlers through teens and supporting parents. She specializes in treating children and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral problems, feeding issues, peer relational difficulties, self-esteem and adjustment issues, as well kids who are on the autism spectrum, have developmental delays, sensory and regulatory issues.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and forensic specialist with more than 35 years of experience helping people. My treatment approach encourages patients to be active participants in their own therapeutic growth and I have vast experience in the treatment of depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, panic and anxiety disorders in all age groups, including children, and in forensic psychology.

I specialize in working with young adults, women, individuals with disabilities, and marginalized/disenfranchised populations. My goal is to help clients discover and build skills to live a satisfying life through strength-based and solution focused interventions without overpathologizing the human experience. Integrating my education and experiences in Forensic Psychology, Art, and Therapeutic Recreation, I'm skilled in providing holistic, inclusive, and affirming psychotherapy.

Clients often feel discouraged as they attempt to navigate the inevitable challenges of life. We'll identify how you can learn to tackle obstacles to becoming a more aware and engaged partner, parent, co-parent and grandparent. Much of my practice involves working with older people, as well as coaching men experiencing the difficulties of a complicated divorce. I also provide co-parenting consultation. In addition, my practice involves working with adolescents and men struggling with their sexuality, as well as with fathers and sons in conflict, and elders who seek guidance related to loss and how best to re-build their lives.
