I have experience/specialized training working with PTSD, Veterans, TBI, Domestic Violence, sexual abuse, Substance Use Disorder, Anxiety and Depression.

For sixteen years I suffered from an eating disorder that ultimately inspired my studies to help others who felt anxious, depressed, and insecure. Trauma is a fact of life but it does not have to be a life sentence. Humans are very resilient. Artwork is just like our ever-evolving journey; we are always learning, growing, and surprised by life. My focus is primarily client-centered; however, I use an eclectic approach to meet the needs of my clients.

As for my credentials, I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2000 from Barry University. In 2005 I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. I worked for ten years at Citrus Health Network, while also working in the area of disability and diagnostic testing at What's On Your Mind. My primary areas of clinical interest and experience include early childhood development assessments as well as family therapy.

Many people are unaware that when telling the worst events of your life, your heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, digestion, etc, respond as if it were happening in that moment. We will do it in a very different way and together. Prolonged periods of time in this highly aroused or shutdown state causes our bodies to start to break down and thus results in symptoms.These are all our natural survival states of Fight, Flight , Freeze or Feign Death.

I enjoy working with clients across the life span (birth- adulthood) specializing in complex cases. Complex could be defined as any of these: treatment failures, multiple or co-occurring diagnosis, intellectual disabilities or personality disorders. I believe we deserve to live with joy. I am passionate about helping those who feel that they are constantly functioning from a place of fear, suffering and stress. I prefer to utilizes a variety of modalities because I believe that one size does not fit all. Some of my favorite modalities are DBT, family systems therapy, expressive arts, ERP for OCD, EMDR & Prolonged Exposure for PTSD.
