My clients are adults and young adults in different stages of life transition experiencing stressors, losses or trauma. This includes college students and young professionals navigating identity, interpersonal, and career stressors; middle age adults with families and careers who have multiple demands and little time to pay attention to their own needs and internal struggles, and older adults coping with the changes that can come with ageing including losses of important relationships, illness, or concerns about loneliness.
In my work with you I will begin by asking what brought you to seek therapy. I want to understand, from your perspective, the feelings and symptoms you experience, your thoughts about the problem, how it began and situations that contributed to it. Maybe you are not sure why you are feeling stuck, anxious or unhappy and this is something we will explore.
In therapy I will work together with you to understand what has been causing your emotional distress and introduce strategies to help you cope with uncomfortable feelings like anxiety. We will also focus on ways that you may feel stuck in your life and use this to explore needs that you have that are not being met, and how you can move toward getting these.
