While I work with a wide population with various concerns, the majority of my work is geared toward helping people who are struggling with the effects of trauma, such as anxiety, depression, interpersonal issues, codependency, negative thought patterns, sleep disturbance, and so much more. I not only help you build coping skills to decrease distress, but I also help you get to the root of your symptoms so that you will experience long-term relief.

If you or your child are struggling with intrusive thoughts, anxiety, fear, low mood, or repetitive actions or behaviors that are distressing or disrupting, I would be honored to work with you on learning effective, evidence-based skills to combat fear and negative thoughts. I earned my Ph.D. from the University of Florida in Clinical Psychology, with a focus on child/pediatrics, but work with patients of all ages. My specialty is in anxiety, OCD, and phobias, but I also work with a variety of other mental health issues, including body-focused repetitive behaviors, such as tics, hair pulling, and skin picking behaviors.

Erum Ahmed, LMFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in treating individuals, couples and families who suffer from stress and anxiety. Erum has a Masters degree in Public Health from Emory University and another Masters degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from University of South Florida (USF). Furthermore, she recieved a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from USF and training from the Gottman's Institute which allows her to specialize in couples counseling. Erum works hard to remain current and familiar with new theraputic interventions by participating in continuing education courses in the field.

Couples who wish to maintain their relationship find it helpful to learn preventative skills to keep a good thing going.
