Extended sesisons can range from 3 hours as we do EMDR, somatic work, regualting your nervous system, parts work, and healing the inner child.
Now offing extended sessions! I work with high achieving young adults who appear put together on the outside but are riddled with anxiety on the inside. Battling with low self-esteem, anxiety and depression is exhausting. Navigating new relationships and careers can be hard, however I see the changes young adults make towards feeling more confident and in control of their lives! You can expect us exploring your relationship patterns and thought patterns all to uncover themes in your life that you want changed.

I believe that healing occurs when one fully connects to heart. As human beings, we require safety and connection based firmly on trust, compassion, and integrity. Through connection, you can experience the benefit of allowing your heart to have a voice and gain insight into your needs as you move forward on your individual journey. Every individual has a unique story that deserves to be heard and I am dedicated to transforming the experiences of each of my client's by focusing on their values, processing interpersonal trauma, and developing a conceptual picture of what it would mean to embody well-being.

You do not need to white knuckle your way through life anymore; sometimes the strongest thing you can do is allow yourself to receive help from others. I invite you to welcome the three C’s into your life through counseling: compassion, challenge, and change. I primarily work with individuals and couples who are ready to take their next steps in healing from the past and working towards a restored future.

Life is not easy. We have all been through at least one event that affected us in a way where it follows us and finds ways to get our attention. For a lot of us this may be depression and anxiety. Lack of a sense of identity. Trying to survive in a world where we are told to live and think a certain way. But at the end of the day, we are all different; built with our own unique energetic and genetic blueprint. So how in any way can each of us follow the same path, the same way of living?

Taking the first step towards counseling can be daunting, but it is also a powerful act of self-care. At times, we all require support to navigate our journey towards healing. My approach is rooted in empathy and involves creating a safe space for listening with an open heart and engaging in a collaborative therapeutic process. As your therapist, my goal is to journey alongside you, hold space for your pain and remind you of your worthiness as I guide you towards an empowered life filled with peace, joy, compassion, and hope.

If you are a parent looking for a therapist for your teen, hi! I love working with teens and hope that my relatable style allows them to feel heard and understood. Don’t we all want that? I work with teens 13+ as well as adults with anxiety, depression, insecurities, codependency, relational issues or just life stressors in general. I understand how frustrating and powerless it can feel to be trapped in our own mind. Overthinking before going into social situations and negative self-talk becomes overwhelming, it interferes with relationships and confidence. Breaking the avoidance, overthinking, and self-doubt cycle is possible.

What's with societal pressures these days? You have to be selfless but also do self-care. You need to care about how you look, but look like you don't put in effort. You need to be the first one at work and the last one to leave, but also be present at home. Under such strain, you can engage in perfectionism, lower your self-worth, or sometimes react by becoming unmotivated and depressed. You either over-commit or constantly ghost and ignore. You feel burned out and resentful. I am here to help you get present, open up, and feel reconnected with a life you don't need to escape.

On the outside, you've got it all together, but inside there's this whole world no one sees, mixed with fear, sadness, disappointments, old memories that won't go away. Maybe you can't sleep or you feel like no one understands the truth of the difficulties within. Possibly, you've tried therapy many times before but it just hasn't helped or been what you needed. If you're ready to share your story with someone, and receive nonjudgmental support, we may need to be working together.

Somatic Therapists

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
