"Stop worrying." they say. "Just cheer up!" they say. If you could, you would but just don't know how. For many, feelings of anxiety, sadness, and grief can be difficult to manage, and at times these feelings can be debilitating. Difficulty managing symptoms can often result in missed days at school or work, avoiding others, low self-esteem, and managing life. Many individuals feel they are alone and no one understands how they feel. Other may feel scared or worried something is wrong with them. Trust me, you are not alone in the way you feel.

Has life triggered fears, distrust or sadness for your and/or your loved one? Are you struggling with something that has you tossing and turning at night? Have things gotten out of control at home, work, or with an addiction? Are your loved ones' behaviors causing you problems? Are you struggling to manage an unmanageable situation. Depression, anxiety and frustrations have plagued all of us from time to time but on occasion we feel stuck and unable to get out of the rut. Other times the losses and scars we’ve been trying to ignore become too loud to ignore. There are answers to the questions and ways out of the darkness.

I specialize in anxiety & depression, life transitions, and relationship issues.
Hello! My name is Dallas Carey. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a focus on helping others design their own consciousness. I work holistically. This means when someone comes to me, I help them target important life domains (e.g., nutrition, sleep, relationships, stress, thinking style, & daily structure.) For example, I am interested in how you think and feel about yourself (and your future self) & others, as well as how daily lifestyle choices facilitate your well-being. You’ll often catch me saying “Let’s discover the thought between the thoughts" or "that situation didn't make you depressed; your perception did."

Working with individuals I focuse on depression, anxiety, substance abuse, self-esteem and holistic strategies.
Through the process of therapy, you can develop new ways of dealing with conflicts, communication difficulties, grief and loss, and many other daily concerns. In a non-judgmental and supportive environment, you can make positive changes for a stronger today and future. I believe that addressing the relationship between couples may require a “sacred space”. This safe space can allow the therapist to work with couples in breaking down walls that may have kept them trapped in overwhelming situations, and aid them in developing deeper connections

You will have a safe place to deal with anxiety and depression.
Are you struggling with anxious thoughts, or mentally replaying situations, ruminating? Are you feeling stressed, doubtful or questioning and doubting yourself? I will help you realize your own worth and power. I believe by identifying negative beliefs and faulty thinking patterns we can process and reframe harmful cognitions that have been undermining you throughout your life. I use evidenced-based therapy approaches to help you stop self-defeating behavior and begin to release lingering doubts and harmful thoughts. Achieve your goals and make the call to connect with me.

Anxiety Therapists
What are the most common treatments for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
