Sex and relationships can feel like minefields. Maybe communication resembles a boxing match, intimacy is a distant memory, or there’s been cheating, shaking your world to its core. Feeling unlovable, wrestling with unconventional desires, or being scared of intimacy due to past traumas – it’s heavy stuff. It’s not just about mismatched Netflix preferences; it’s about feeling disconnected, unheard, or stuck in a situation you never expected. This is tough territory, and it can feel oh-so-vulnerable to address. But you don’t have to face it alone.

Do the memories of the past continue to haunt you in your present life? Is your mind and body in a constant state of fight-or-flight, leaving you feeling exhausted or empty? Are you looking to heal on a deeper, cellular level instead of just putting bandaid over symptoms? If so, you have come to a safe space! Having worked at various mental health and addiction centers in the past, I quickly noticed a significant lack of holistic services in mental health care despite their proven benefits. This lead me to build my own private practice that weaves holistic and evidence-based approaches to help you heal and feel more balanced.

There are times when life can be very difficult to manage, especially if you have been trying to do it all alone. Without proper support and guidance, it can become a daunting task. However difficult it may be, know that you do not have to bear any of this on your own. Taking the first step to reach out for help is huge, and I commend anyone who decides to make strides to better their lives.

We believe in the importance of both Science and Spirituality in our work. We are advocates for both Herbal and Prescription treatment and believe in the use of both Eastern and Western medical systems to treat disease and maintain health. We practice a model of therapy, coaching, and counseling which is collaborative, open and holistic in nature. Our therapeutic relationship should feel warm, safe and be connecting. This model is different than many counseling models which have a less collaborative flavor. In these models typically the therapist is the "expert" in the room and should not be challenged.

I welcome men and women in my practice who are feeling the pain of past relationships.
I have been a Therapist for 27 years. Working with people who need and want to change is powerful. Most people have something they would like to change or heal from. Wanting or needing change does not make it happen, you have to work at it. Clients often come to therapy at a loss of what to do next and thats where the process begins. That's what therapy is all about. Finding the right therapist is critical to change and healing. I encourage you to call me.

With over 35 years in the counseling field, I consider my easy-going compassionate manner as an opening to help you feel comfortable discussing difficult topics. Quite often, it can be easy to avoid, escape or make poor/unhealthy choices. This can become a way to cope with uncomfortable life experiences. As a team, we will uncover and identify the issues, decide what it is you want in life, and set realistic and attainable goals. In addition to counseling, I offer LAC supervision to help you become fully licensed. I have been certified (ACS) for many years and would love to support you in this process.

At first, my career was focused on advocacy and mobilizing communities around social injustice. I then decided to shift my focus to clinical work and since becoming licensed I have worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
