Are you struggling with depression/anxiety, loneliness, divorce, abuse, miscarriage/infertility, grief, rejection, fear, self-destruction, isolation, lack of focus, lack of direction, etc? Many of our troubling thoughts and feelings come from beliefs we developed early on from difficult and painful experiences that went unprocessed. I can help you identify what is holding you back, where these beliefs came from, and how to heal so you can grow, engage and thrive! Want to feel better, but don’t know how to get there? I use assessment tools to help determine where you are struggling, & track progress along the way.

Have you ever felt like no one understands what you are going through? That you are alone on this road called life and not really sure where it is taking you? You may feel “weak” if you seek therapy, but let me tell you that is the complete opposite of what you are. By you finding help you are proving to yourself that you are stronger than what you think. As you take this big step in your journey it can bring a lot of nerves and excitement at the same time. It is not easy to find a stranger to talk about your feelings with. I want to be the person who will fill your cup up when you need it the most.

Finding a good therapist is no easy task, especially online where your options seem as endless as your Netflix suggestions. The search can be daunting and exhausting - particularly when you're trying to just find someone who will understand and respect you. Being vulnerable with a stranger is scary and I applaud you for taking the first step in finding someone who can help you feel more "you". Therapy is not cookie-cutter or black and white. It can take time to find the right match, and I truly hope that I can be that for you!

Domestic Abuse Therapists
What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?
Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.
When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?
Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.
What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?
Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.
How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?
It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
