Are you struggling with conflict, boundaries, communication skills, and daily functioning in your relationship? Relationships can be difficult to navigate on your own which is why couples counseling can be a good place to learn more about yourself and your relationship. Couples counseling can be daunting to start, but therapy can provide a safe and comfortable environment to share and open up to your partner. In my approach, I meet with you and your partner individually to learn as much as possible about your past and the history of the relationship as we work towards healthier communication and behavioral patterns.

The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new -Socrates. I prefer to guide therapy from a solution focused approach so you can spend less time and money on therapy and more time enjoying your life. Life will constantly challenge you in ways that are hard to predict and impossible to manage alone. I have over 10 years of experience helping adults, teens, and couples make changes that lead to better relationships, improved moods, less anxiety, and improved self- image.

An easygoing style and a comfortable, warm setting provide the right atmosphere for talk-thru therapy. I pride myself in listening intuitively to a client's issues so I can help: In the form of addressing what you're saying to yourself and how you can say it differently.

My approach to psychotherapy is the time-honored psychoanalytic method, which seeks resolution of the deep-rooted, underlying issues contributing to emotional distress. I have experience working with a range of conditions, including mood, personality, and psychosomatic disorders. I have particular interest in the psychotherapy of schizophrenia and borderline personality disorder, and in working with individuals who have not previously, or only partially, responded to treatment. In addition to my private work, I hold faculty appointments in psychiatry at the University of Central Florida and Tufts Medical School.

Enjoying a life filled with peace, satisfaction and fulfillment is a right not merely a privilege. If you find yourself unsatisfied in your personal life, family life, job, relationships, etc..you owe it to yourself to seek out someone who will walk beside you, helping you discover different or healthier perspectives and provide you with tools to grow into what you want life to be. Even the strongest person can benefit from a guiding velvet hand periodically. Whether you are struggling with a specific difficulty or need guidance improving your general life situation, I would be honored to help you on your wellness journey.

Are you dealing with increased anxiety in situations and places that you used to feel comfortable in? Whether it be flying, driving, heights, bridges, wide open spaces, or small enclosed spaces we feel we can't easily escape from, we sometimes start to develop "irrational" fears as we get older - and we just can't figure out why! We get frustrated when we just can't rationally think our way out of the anxiety, start avoiding situations that will set us off, and feel defeated. The feared worst-case-outcomes dominate. Do you just want your old self back but struggle to know how to get there? If so, I can help!

I offer individual therapy to adults and adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety, or difficulties that can come with significant life changes. I can also help address effects of trauma, identity issues, and impacts of neurocognitive issues. My approach is to honor the person not the problem as we cultivate strength and strategy to overcome challenges. You will walk away feeling heard and as though you have a safe, non-judgmental space to offload difficult thoughts and feelings. Eventually, you may develop new insights about how to manage difficulties we discussed.

One of the major problems one can have is expecting perfection. What follows is loss of confidence, loss of focus, and later just giving up. I work with kids, teens and adults whom have the same issues of freezing up, worrying about what others think and having so much pressure they no longer enjoy their sport. It's because you lose focus and worry to much about making a mistake or embarrassing oneself or letting others down. If you have been feeling like your performance and motivation has declined then your mental game is likely in need of change.

I have observed that most of the clients I have helped over the years, suffer from and express feeling fragmented by either past trauma or current stressors they are experiencing. They describe feeling stuck and unable to move forward in their lives. This often leads to anxiety and depression as a sense of powerlessness invades and takes control of their thinking. In some cases, panic attacks, substance use and even self harming or suicidal thoughts can occur. My goal then for you my client, is to help you piece together your fragmented sense of self and help you move forward on the path towards a better present and future.

**Free 30-min Video Consultation** Being in the circus taught me that juggling too many balls in the air can lead to feeling like you're always picking up the pieces rather than enjoying the show. While our emotions float up and down, we start applying binary labels of "good" (happy) and "bad" (anger, sadness, anxiety) that our systems (e.g., US Society, Family, Culture) has assigned. Improve self-awareness of our emotions, thoughts, and the stories we tell ourselves about our worth internally, with others, and in the world. Change the Narrative you've internalized through identifying, observing, respecting, and accepting emotions.
