Hi! I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern at the Christian Counseling of South Tampa office. I am specializing in women, ages 12+, and couples counseling, as I have completed Gottman L-1 training and I'm certified in SYMBIS premarital counseling. My primary theoretical approach is the evidenced-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which focuses on identifying the negative belief that informs one’s thoughts and behaviors. I also integrates other techniques and theories such as a strengths-based approach.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and I have top training from The Beck Institute using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
One of the major problems one can have is expecting perfection. What follows is loss of confidence, loss of focus, and later just giving up. I work with kids, teens and adults whom have the same issues of freezing up, worrying about what others think and having so much pressure they no longer enjoy their sport. It's because you lose focus and worry to much about making a mistake or embarrassing oneself or letting others down. If you have been feeling like your performance and motivation has declined then your mental game is likely in need of change.

There are many ways to positively process issues with traditional cognitive behavioral therapy.
If you're stuck, stressed, depressed, anxious, have relationship issues or have experienced a trauma or life changing event, there is help and hope. You may simply be in need of brief life coaching for decision making. You'll be in a nonjudgmental environment and we will work together to help you live your most authentic and best life moving forward. As a solution-focused therapist, we don't just work on how you feel now but how you want to feel in the future. You have your own answers and it's my job to help you listen to yourself and make your best choices.

I hold a warm and non-judgmental space while we move towards your goals together. My approach to treatment involves us reflecting on how your life experiences and environments have contributed to your emotional, behavioral, and psychological responses. From there, we can learn what works for you, what doesn't, and what you want to change. My perspective is informed by cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy, which means we have multiple pathways for creating your treatment roadmap. Dr. Lisa Beckman is my licensed supervisor during my postdoctoral residency.

I utilize numerous evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and other evidence-based interventions.
I describe myself as an "individualized therapist" because I utilize different evidence-based techniques from different theoretic orientations to help my clients because using and applying one theory and one technique does not help a client. A therapist must utilize different modalities and constantly think outside of the box to help his or her clients. Not only that, I believe in collaborative teamwork, and an interactive approach with my clients to get the help that they are seeking. I encourage my clients to give their input, and opinions to give them only the best. If this is what you are seeking, contact me.
