I believe in order to make a positive change you must be empowered to create the change you desire. Many times I see clients struggle because situations have happened to them and they identify with the hurt that has been caused. In order for growth to occur individuals need to be in charge of their own life’s circumstances. As a therapist my purpose is to guide my clients toward the goals they seek in order to manage their lives effectively.

I work with adult individuals struggling or stuck in decision-making, pre & post-divorce, break-ups, experiencing grief from many types of changes and losses, or life changes that bring up feelings of fraud, not being good enough, and the why me (s).
I am told I'm confused & really don't want to leave this relationship. Are they right? Is this just a life crisis? Ugh why am I questioning myself again? I can do this right? I don't know where to start. Or perhaps this: Why am I always ending up in hurtful relationships? Why do I care more than they seem to? Did I mean anything to them? I just want to be loved. What is wrong with ME? OR maybe you heard the word or were the one to say DIVORCE (break-up). Was there anything so wrong that now we are breaking up? The children moved on & we did not know what to say to each other, it was very silent. I feel so alone, tired, & grieving,

Our relationship will be one of respect, empathy, and understanding. My goal and focus in therapy is to help you find your own way and answers to your unique situations and problems. You do have the answers within yourself and I would be honored to help you find them and then implement the necessary changes to see new dreams materialize.

It's important to reconsider how you approach your life. Making changes involves accepting that seeking help and support is perfectly fine. Life presents various challenges, and each of us has our own unique perspective. I believe that everyone encounters mental health struggles at some point. Grief and loss can manifest in different ways, from losing a job or a loved one to feeling isolated, experiencing sleep difficulties, dealing with relationship issues, ineffective communication, depression, and anxiety. Family problems and feeling unable to lead a happier life can also contribute to feelings of loss.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
