Sessions typically last between 8 - 16 weeks with revisions along the way depending on your circumstances: CBT, DBT, Reality Therapy, Brief and Strategic, Relational Therapy,.
With my experience as a practitioner, I tend to experience clients who are struggling with relationships, work stress, social life, family issues, addiction, mood disorders and or a desire for internal work. Which are typically, prior to therapy, approached with an, "I can solve this myself attitude." This tends to come to the point where the issues are overwhelming and the discomfort of unhappiness and repeated patterns are just too much to bear. But you find yourself here, ready to do something different, and are ready for positive changes. Please Reach out and let me help you find peace and happiness again.

I offer a strength based, person centered approach, rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, or Solution Focused Brief Therapy.
My clients are motivated to improve their ability to live, love, laugh, and play as they have already made the hard decision to recognize a need/benefit for therapy in their lives. They arrive with a degree of uncertainty, feelings of hopelessness, and often, a past history of trauma. Most don't know how to achieve on their own what they are acknowledging they need. They are tired of going through the motions of life and wish to experience it fully, again. Some come with deep hurt from various relationships that they need support in resolving. And all simply want to feel better.

I utilized interventions guided by CBT, DBT, acceptance and commitment therapy, and art and play therapy and many more.
We are all trying to navigate through the tides of life. When, at times, things don't go as planned, or we get to our destination only to find out it's not what we thought, we might find ourselves feeling lost or overwhelmed by life's ebbs and flows. But contentment and joy can be found even amid uncertainty. My passion is helping individuals identify their compass, redefine their core values, and make meanings that can propel them into their heart's desires. This holistic approach is about supporting you to envision and build a social, professional and spiritual life that enhances the best versions of yourself.

By using techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, we’ll foster healthier thinking and coping skills, manage emotions, and improve relationships.
Are you a parent noticing that your child has difficulty making friends, sitting still, or staying focused in class? They might also struggle with understanding personal space, handling conflicts, or regulating their emotions when upset. Is your teen grappling with low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, or challenges in forming their identity and managing relationships? Or maybe you are a young adult dealing with the stress of college and the complexities of independence. Imagine being able to face life's challenges with confidence each day. With the right support and strategies, healing and growth can become a reality.

I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to help individuals realize the power of their own thoughts and to develop the skills to challenge any negative self-perceptions; dialectical behavioral therapy to assist individuals in letting go of judgment and embracing acceptance; and EMDR to enable the healing from emotional distress.
“Owning our story and loving ourselves through the process is the bravest thing we will ever do.” (Brene Brown). I would like to be able to help you define your story and learn to love yourself to your fullest capability so that you can also learn how to allow others to love you. To find your center and allow yourself to fill your cup with your own greatness and allow others to benefit from what overflows from the cup. To learn how to express your needs / wants without fear or intimidation and to learn how to fulfill those needs/wants without worrying about the other people in your life.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
