My specialties include relationship issues, recovery from trauma, coping with developmental or life transitions, working through divorce, and recovery from addiction.
Through a supportive and nurturing relationship, we will work together to strengthen your emotional resources and change unhealthy patterns. Such work often involves a thoughtful understanding of the ways in which important relationships, significant life experiences, and society/culture contribute to current obstacles. Gradually, you will deepen your insight about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors; develop healthy ways to cope with stress; and improve your quality of life. I offer services for adults, children, adolescents, families, and couples. When working with children/adolescents, I encourage parent participation that is congruent to treatment goals.

I’ll support your unique goals and create a space for processing your grief and trauma.
Are you struggling with self-confidence? Do you second-guess and shrink yourself in relationships? Find yourself upset "for no reason" often? You’re a hard worker, you use your logic, but still question your worth, feeling disconnected and powerless. Maybe you’re struggling with grief and loss, or coping with the chaos of a past or recent trauma. It’s all overwhelming, and you’re ready for things to get better. You’re ready to find the clarity you know is there. I want to help you get there.

Therapy can be challenging and triggering! As a therapist I understand the effort it takes to work on one's trauma, fears, insecurities or stressors.
I've realized during my time practicing as a Mental Health Counselor, the immediate need for someone to listen! I empathize with individuals who want to be heard and understood. One common issue that stands out during my therapy session is difficulties communicating and listening among peers and family. I hear my client's say how difficult it has been for them to express and explain their perspectives to others and not feel heard. During these difficult times all we need is someone to listen without judgment.

I help clients gain self-awareness, regulate their emotions, process trauma, and develop effective communication skills so they can show up for themselves and others as their best selves.
If you are here, it means you have taken the first step to change your life. It takes courage to recognize that we are hurting and need help. Therapy can be a scary process for many people and it’s important to find the right person to embark on this journey with. If you decide to work with me, I will do my best to help you build resilience, emotional regulation, awareness, and self-acceptance.

It feels like you're constantly juggling a million things at once with work, family, friendships. It’s like you're on a never-ending treadmill of responsibilities. And then there's ADHD— where you feel like your brain is running a million miles a minute, jumping from one thought to the next before you even have a chance to catch your breath. On top of it all there’s baggage from your past—stuff you might not even realize is trauma, but it's there in the background making life harder and harder. You need someone who “gets it” & isn’t going to judge you for how you’re feeling or acting. Let me be that person for you.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
