Some people have waited a long time and have dealt with something difficult, even becoming accustomed to discomfort or a painful experience before seeking help. Others may desire increased satisfaction in life and are seeking understanding and a greater sense of wellbeing. Whether you have a clear need in seeking counseling, such as a crisis, traumatic experience, or significant life change or a more subtle sense of wanting greater fulfillment and life satisfaction, the counseling process can be helpful in personal understanding, healing and change, creating the potential for improving how we relate to life, ourselves and others.

Welcome! I’m so happy that you are making the steps forward. This first step is quite difficult. Since you're here, you should know you are not alone! I find myself drawn toward conversational-based therapy, where we are able to develop a relationship based on foundations of trust and honesty. When I say conversational-based therapy, I mean that I utilize a client-centered approach, while also using cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) to help challenge spots where you might be stuck and help you see a different perspective. At the same time, I am in no way the expert of your life and am here to help you navigate this world.

Would you like to feel empowered by your emotional experience - rather than overwhelmed by it? The therapeutic experience can help you befriend and understand your emotions, allowing you to liberate yourself from stuck feelings & patterns of avoidance. Sometimes we experience great discomfort in order to motivate us to make healthy changes & reach out for support. You do not have to face life's challenges alone. Healing is always available to us, we can learn to kindly step out of our own way and receive it. Taking the first step in exploring mental health options is a great start - don't stop here, healing is waiting.

Your mind is a racing machine that you can't seem to turn off! Scary and bothersome thoughts keep popping in your mind! You try to block them but they keep comping back. You can't be fully present or really enjoy yourself because they are so loud so often! Simple tasks now take forever because you battle the urge to check or repeat things over and over. You are embarrassed that people may think you're weird! But they just don't understand what it's like to think things you don't want to think and do things you know don't always make sense. You just want the thoughts and worries to stop so you can feel like yourself again.

Stressed? Anxious? Generally feeling overwhelmed with emotions, and need someone to talk to? Let's figure it out together! As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I put a lot of focus into trauma healing, utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. This method can be used for many different issues, as well as processing any early trauma, this is often present when we can’t quite figure out why our mind and body are always on high alert. Our bodies do really well in telling us what we need to work through. I can help you become more attuned to your needs.

Clients who participate in services with me will learn a lot about themselves as well as unique ways to cope with daily stress. My approach ties in various techniques so that each client can develop their own way of healing and not feel like they’re stuck in a specific box. I’m continuously participating in education for new protocols and techniques that are proven to work for others. Ultimately, the goal in therapy for my clients is to find relief from the hurt, pain, and stress that traumatic events can cause.

The majority of my experience over the last 13 years has been with couples and individuals, and this is where I find myself to be most successful and happen to find the most enjoyment. I find great satisfaction in seeing couples discover the ability to reconnect, communicate, and discover new ways to live in harmony again, whether this is in an actual couple session or individually.

I have enjoyed providing support in mental health for over 20 years now. We all face moments of distress and experience unplanned circumstances in our lives that we simply are not prepared for. It can be difficult to navigate our way through all of the thoughts that may come up or the different levels of pain we tend to experience. I know that reaching out for help can be challenging. We all have our own healing journeys and I am grateful to be able to help individuals with discovering their own path to healing, growth and change.

I believe therapy is about active collaboration and discovery. Together we will explore how your current patterns either support your happiness or contribute to your struggle. Areas of distress are commonly patterns that repeat over and over----in how we cope, our self-esteem, and our relationships. Common psychological symptoms such as anxiety and depression can often be linked back to the way we relate to the world, ourselves, and others. You're the expert on you. Once we've identified the underlying patterns, we can work together to develop a new way of interacting with the world around you and the people in it.
