No matter what phase of relationship breakdown you are in, give me a call today.
What happened to the person I married? Well, it’s still them- just the stressed, frustrated version whose worst traits are rising to the surface. Spending so much energy on work, parenting, and have-to's leaves little room for the love and connection that you once shared. In its place are anger, criticism, and controlling behaviors. The distance and disconnection are worrisome, but confronting them just seems to lead to an argument and more problems. You're left feeling confused, depressed, and alone. All you really know for sure is that something has to change- and soon.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a vessel for change, and that there is a tremendous sense of meaning and power in a person’s story being heard and change being witnessed.
Sometimes we realize how much of our life we spend tending to the needs of others and how little we attend to our own needs. You may have reached a point where you have little left to give and exhaustion, grief, anxiety, or depression have taken over. Maybe you even find yourself feeling detached from those closest to you. If you find yourself in this place, it's time for a change. We cannot give water from an empty well.

I have diagnosed and worked with hundreds of women of all ages and have found that many are struggling daily with feelings of sadness, low self-esteem, decrease in motivation, ongoing worry, fatigue, poor sleep, racing thoughts, self-doubt and much more. I recognize and confidently address the various symptoms that present themselves as the result of a fast paced, social media driven and pressure filled life. Perhaps you are struggling with past trauma and feel unsure how to heal from it. You are not alone. I recognize the hesitation associated with beginning to engage in therapy, be proud you are taking the first step.

You are suffering from the pain of grief. Intrusive thoughts about the loss you’ve endured come and go like waves. No one has been through the same thing you have, so no one can relate, and it’s made you feel isolated. It's scary and feels hopeless. Normally, you’re a very driven person, but since your loss, you feel paralyzed. Sometimes, you think of calling or texting them, but then remember you can't. The cycle of wanting to see or talk to them again, knowing you can’t, and having no one to relate to has also brought depression and anger.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
