Throughout my career I have provided care to people from different backgrounds including veterans, law enforcement, first responders, LGBTQ, and people with disabilities. I have experience working with people who suffer from depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, and bipolar disorder. I provide individual, couples, and group therapy. I enjoy helping couples and families navigate challenges that arise in their dynamics, and combine session work with both individual and family sessions as needed.

There are many reasons why people seek counseling with me. Sometimes it's to deal with long-standing psychological issues with anxiety or depression. Other times it is in response to unexpected changes in one's life such as a divorce, a death or work transition. Therapy provides insight & new perspectives into life's challenges, creates solutions & confidence to make changes. I create a safe, warm, non-judgmental environment for my clients to explore their choices & emotions so they are able to gain insight, self-confidence & new coping skills in order to navigate life's obstacles more effectively.

No matter how young or old one may be, it can be quite challenging to build resiliency and have hope as you persevere through your life's journey. My goal is to help shift your perspective through genuine connection, so you can overcome whatever battle you are facing. I believe there is no depression, anxiety, trauma, life-change, or addiction that cannot be controlled and re-directed. We all have a purpose that is much greater than our pain, and we all have the power to shift the trajectory in our lives.

Often I will used testing and other techniques to help identify problem areas, and therefore solutions, so that you may move on with your life.

Hello! I am so happy you're here! My name is Melinda and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado and Florida. I specialize in working with children, teens, and adults who are experiencing trauma related issues, anxiety, depression, stress, attachment and low self-esteem. I approach therapy from a cognitive behavioral perspective when working with clients, however I incorporate techniques from various therapeutic modalities to meet each individual and family needs. I strive to keep my therapeutic environment a safe place without bias or judgment.

I am a licensed psychologist in Florida with over twenty-five years of experience with children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of mood disorders, parenting problems, behavior, and relationship issues. Working with patients that are having difficulties making life adjustments as life becomes more complex is what I enjoy the most because we all can become more adaptable and develop new skills and techniques to help us cope more effectively. Many people I work with are first responders, have PTSD, or are suffering from Acute Stress Disorder following a trauma.
