Also my ideal client needs to identify strategies to better manage their time. My ideal client struggles with anxieties in his or her relationship, which could lead to codependency and anxious attachment patterns.

I specialize in treating anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, dissociation (DID), and depression though evidenced based approaches such as EMDR, IFS, Intuitive Eating, and DBT.
Are you at a point where just making it through the day feels like you are swimming against an endless current? Have you been feeling overwhelmed, anxious, angry or just plain sad and starting to wonder how, or if, things can change? Well you deserve to live a life you enjoy, a life with peace and balance—my passion is to help you find it. Therapy that provides true relief goes further than simply talking about feelings. I believe in walking along side you, at your pace, to learn the steps necessary to get you back to feeling “you” again—or even heal pieces of yourself you didn't know needed healing.

I specialize in EMDR for processing past challenges, integrating ACT or DBT for values and skills.
I'm drawn to those who've faced life's unfair blows, carrying the weight of trauma. It's not about fixing; they're not broken. Their needs center around shedding the burden of feeling defective due to past experiences. Together, we navigate their history, aiming not to erase but to transform. The goal is a fresh perspective, a chance to unshackle from the past, and embrace a new lease on life—a journey filled with compassion, understanding, and authentic growth.

I include CBT, DBT, somatic work, narrative therapy in a trauma informed, client-oriented structure.
Do you feel like spinning in circles when trying to be the best version of yourself that experiences stability, happiness, calm, and connection? You have made a lot of attempts to improve your sense of well-being but continue feeling that your past claims your identity. You see it every day: in the depressed mood, the lack of energy, in the way anxiety or anger shows as part of your responses to daily stressors/situations, impacting your sense of safety. Maybe you have noticed patterns of thinking or acting that distance you more and more from your values and goals (family, work, relationship with others and yourself).

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
