I’ve continued my career working with adult women facing similar challenges, using holistic healing methods alongside a dynamic team of professionals to address issues in clients’ lives as they move toward healing.
My goal is to provide a safe space to openly explore barriers that can prevent my clients from maintaining lasting joy in their lives. Inner beliefs, past experiences, and unhealthy relationships are often a central issue we face in learning to live as our whole selves, fully accepted and fully loved. My mission is to help my clients find wholeness and know their inherent worth. I have worked with children, families, gerontology, hospital social work, substance abuse recovery, and hospice. As well as teenage girls, as they navigate healing concerns such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, self-harm, learning disabilities, and self-esteem.

It is my belief that each individual has a unique path that leads to healing, self-discovery and growth. As human beings, our life experiences, relationships and beliefs are varied, and as a therapist I honor these differences. I believe in the power of therapy as a means to heal through pain, but also in exploring greater meaning in one's life and relationships. I believe we can all benefit from therapy and gain valuable perspective about who we are and how we became that way. We can’t run away from the tough stuff.. Pain and suffering are a part of our human condition and can also be a huge opportunity for growth.

Life doesn't come with instructions. We make the best choices we're capable of, and still at times we find ourselves feeling powerless within our circumstances. In these moments, we may require guidance to navigate the course or even to decide which course to navigate.

There comes a time when what once worked as a method of coping no longer serves its purpose. The woundings of the past may surface in painful emotions, destructive behaviors or dysfunctional relationships. They manifest in day to day choices that are not in line with our goals and aspirations. The result is more pain and despair. There are choices and options that can alter this course. It is a difficult process, but so is the current, painful path. To choose healing requires willingness, vulnerability and hard work. The product of that work can be a life filled with hope and peace.

My counseling philosophy is based on listening closely and helping you work through some of the issues that may be holding you back. I always respect my clients' background and history that may be hard for anyone else to fully understand. Generally the answers to set you free are found within yourself. One of the great benefits of counseling is that, often times, my clients find tremendous freedom just by making insightful realizations with the help of someone with clinical knowledge. The most fulfilling days are those in which my clients report relief from distraction and newfound happiness.

Making the decision to begin your therapeutic journey can feel overwhelming. My goal is to create a safe environment for you to grow and explore the things that have been holding you back. Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
