Trauma, stress, and burnout can contribute to depression, anxiety, and difficulty in our relationships with loved ones. Unhealthy attachment styles and avoidance tendencies only make things worse. So why do we react that way? People develop survival skills when they are used to living in crisis, but sometimes these skills turn into self sabotaging behaviors. Through therapy we will find ways to adapt your survival skills to healthier coping skills. You have had to be strong to make it to where you are now, and you should be proud of yourself for that! I hope to help you create a safe space where you can get the rest you deserve

I can't say that I have an ideal client, as every client presents with their own unique set of strengths and challenges. I find myself drawn to clients whose lives have been significantly negatively impacted by the systems they belong to. Aiding clients with the tools and resources to work on breaking those generational cycles of trauma or poverty, is one of the most rewarding experiences I can have as a therapist. I truly believe that all clients have the ability to overcome whatever challenges they may be experiencing and achieve their personal goals. My only job is to help them develop the tools to do so.

Most folks I collaborate with are navigating the aftermath of trauma or adverse experiences, seeking pathways to healing. They confront challenges such as C-PTSD, eating concerns/body image issues, and codependency, with the aim of identifying triggers and managing unwanted behaviors more effectively. Their journey is towards processing past traumas, fostering resilience, and reclaiming their lives. They aspire to convert their pain into strength, nurturing healthier relationships with both themselves and the surrounding world.

I do really well-reaching clients who have anxiety and depression. I also do well with college-aged clients and young mothers, 20/30-year-old women, and I can empathize with mothers/parents very well, as I am married with a 3-year-old son. My ideal client is motivated to participate in the therapeutic process and has some insight into their problem & what they feel they need to do to solve it. They don't expect me to have all the answers and understand that we will partner together to achieve their goals- but that they are the ones who have to be motivated to create change.

So many of us long for a feeling of liberation from old patterns, habits, wounding and conditioning. To be free from thoughts/feelings stemming from pain, fear and unworthiness. To awaken from just going through the motions in life and evolving into the most authentic and empowered version of ourselves means we must first begin the journey of deeply understanding ourselves. To face ourselves with a radical honesty and acceptance. To lean into ourselves with a mindful and compassionate curiosity. To hold ourselves in the highest regard.

Deanne is passionate about assisting people in discovering their path to happiness by guiding them in identifying what challenges are in their way (conscious or unconscious). Deanne has come to believe, through years of clinical experience, that each person has an inherent capacity to create a life of value and meaning, and that her job is to create the safe space where each client's truth and authentic self can emerge. Deanne knows when she and her clients co-create this sacred space that her clients' trauma, loss, and grief will heal and they will reclaim their inherent wisdom, feelings, expressions, and clear thinking.

My ideal clients are middle-aged Hispanic females who are married and have children. They may struggle with disturbed sleep, excessive worry, feeling overwhelmed, lack of motivation, trouble concentrating, and feeling under-appreciated. They are experiencing difficulties "juggling" their roles at home, work, and parenting responsibilities. They have expressed a desire to feel "normal" and "efficient", and to be a "good mother, spouse and employee." The end goal would be a reduction of anxiety and depression symptoms, returning to a normal level of function, practicing self-care, and enhancing time management skills.

The purpose of therapy is to take what you have learned and apply it outside. It is not always easy to make changes, and change can be scary, but once you put your words into action, the change can be beautiful. I have worked with people who struggle with substance use issues, depression, anxiety, and families. I have a passion for working with people in the BiPOC community. I want my clients to believe in themselves and what they can accomplish without needing external validation. My goal is for you to feel confident in your decision-making to process your needs/issues without relying on others.

Sometimes life has mountains, and sometimes life has valleys. Sometimes when you are in the valley, it feels like you will never get out. Maybe you are in a valley right now, or maybe your child's mental health is becoming so severe that they feel like they will never get out. And it may seem that way! But there is HOPE. I am a therapist who believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship and its role in producing change. And I am absolutely a believer that there is always hope.
