Casey Yates is a Registered Mental Health Intern with over 5 years of experience. She specializes in assisting children, teens, adults, and seniors who have a wide variety and range of concerns including depression, anxiety, grief, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD, and relationship issues. Casey has worked in residential settings, case management, and intake coordination.

Since I was young my friends and family members have always come to me with their problems and concerns. They felt comfortable coming and talking to me about anything because they knew I would just listen without judgment. Some people may see it as a burden to listen to other people's problems, but I see it as a "gift". Along with the gift of listening, I have been gifted with the ability to understand people's emotions, feelings, and thoughts by helping them change their perspective. Also, my struggles and life experiences have helped me to be more empathetic and understanding of others.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, receiving my Masters in Social Work from Florida State University. I have worked with various populations and have a diverse background including people with trauma, crisis, depression, anxiety, grief and loss and relationship problems.

I am passionate about helping children, teenagers and adults process and heal from difficult life experiences. I am a Certified EMDR Therapist, and for several years I have been working with people of all ages who have experienced trauma. I am also a Registered Play Therapist and help children process and express themselves through developmentally appropriate therapeutic play. With children, I utilize the evidenced-based practice of Play Therapy along with EMDR Therapy. I know how devastating the experience of trauma can be to individuals and their families, and I can help navigate the process of healing.

I believe we are the sum of what we encounter in life and how we react to these encounters. Encounters begin during the time where we relied on others to love and protect us. A time when we didn’t have control over what happened to us. Sometimes leaving us with a uneasy perception of the world. If the perception is bad, the world is bad. If the perception is unsafe, the world is unsafe. If the perception is untrustworthy, the world is untrusting. Now the world in front of us has become full of unsatisfying feelings and a journey trying to escape emotional pain.

Hello, I'm Jessica. I have been working with adults and adolescents who find themselves struggling and want to feel like they are in control of their life. Some of the issues we face together are behavior difficulties, depression, anxiety, anger, relationship/family conflict, substance use, parenting, and other life changes.
