Within my 14 years of practice, I have use a collaborative evidence based approach to counseling with the following modalities; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy , Strengths based therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy principles.
Are you often questioning yourself? Wondering how to navigate your relationships and where to go in your career? Do you struggle with social, spiritual or interpersonal conflict? Do you find that your difficulty with managing stress is impeding on your ability to be successful or functional? These questions are very common; the solutions, however, are often uncommon, but instead may feel complicated. Fortunately, addressing these questions do not have to remain a mystery.

Hi, I'm Sarah, licensed mental health counselor. I am DBT certified and utilize this approach with many clients. The core components of DBT that I teach consist of mindfulness, and distress tolerance. These skills can be applied to those struggling with anxiety, lack or focus, or simple life changes. I focus on a mind and body approach to assist in treating women, and teens as a whole in order to best connect with their thoughts and behaviors. I have experience in working with women who are survivors of trauma. We can approach the therapeutic process at your comfort level, and come up with a support plan that makes sense for you.

I am a trauma-competent therapist that employs a range of Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy ( DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) elements.
You are worthy of peace. You are worthy of being heard. You are worthy of healthy, nourishing relationships. You are more than your mistakes or challenges. Sometimes life circumstances and events can cloud the ability to believe this. Deciding to take a chance on therapy is a significant and, often, daunting step. But you are not alone! I am here to create a space where you feel safe and empowered to make positive change for a more fulfilling life. I would be honored to partner with you!

I'm trained in TF-CBT, EMDR, DBT, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy.
Life can be difficult. The experiences we encounter can shape and mold us unto someone we may no longer recognize, understand misplaced feelings or have an impact on our daily functioning, but we continue to press... We have people relying on us, responsibilities waiting on us while fears and pain hunt us....but we continue to press....We think the feelings, flashbacks, nightmares, anger, hurt or pain will go away not realizing it is trauma. Trauma is simply an event which causes extreme distress and can manifest in different ways for different people. Lets work together to live a healthy life healed from the effects of trauma.

I use evidence-based practices, including CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and Motivational Therapy, as well as Christian Counseling.
Many of us go through life with low self-esteem believing that we're not enough, less than, or undeserving of any good thing. We wonder why good things don't happen for us, or why we can't have healthy relationships like others do. We feel guilt and shame for the things we've done (or not done) and we don't know how to believe in ourselves anymore. I am here to help you through these unhealthy beliefs and help you rediscover your true worth and purpose in this life.

Past experiences can shape a person's individual well being and relationships with others. Challenges such as anxiety, depression, trust issues, low self-esteem, difficulties with intimacy, etc. may lead to difficulties in forming or maintaining healthy relationships. This may include communication breakdowns, conflicts, and a lack of intimacy. My ideal client and couples are those who are willing to put in the work necessary for personal growth, ready to engage in the therapeutic process. I am passionate about helping people discover and focus on the present and positives within themselves, their lives, and their relationships.

Hi, I'm Briana and I'm an alcoholic. My "lived experience" in addiction is just as valuable to me as the license I hold. Transparency and authenticity are two of the most important things I bring to the table in a therapy session. My own journey through recovery has given me the gift of reaching the alcoholic and addict still suffering. But let's be honest we are all in recovery from something in life, and our hurts often riddle us with guilt and shame. It is my hope that you find a space to bring all that through the door with you and find the courage to set it all down.

Have you been feeling so overwhelmed and anxious that you're finding it challenging to function? Perhaps these feelings have been triggered by work, relationships, past experiences, or your fears. Caring for our mental health can sound so simple but often we wonder- what does that even mean and how the heck do I start? Getting started can feel so intimidating! I believe in the immense benefits of creating space to be still with a therapist, so you can begin to explore your inner world, relationships, past experiences, symptoms and stressors.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
