Ms. Helfner is a licensed clinical social worker. She received her BSW from Florida International University. She received her Master’s in clinical social work at Barry University. She went on to complete an MS in Family therapy working towards her PH. D at Nova University. She completed an additional certification as a Master certified Addictions Professional (MCAP) as well as a Clinical fellow in marriage and family therapy. She has over 30 years of clinical experience working with Individuals, couples, teens, LGBTQ, and families. She specializes in Co-occurring disorders, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar disorder, and addiction.

I also do well with college-aged clients and young mothers, 20/30-year-old women, and I can empathize with mothers/parents very well, as I am married with a 3-year-old son. My ideal client is motivated to participate in the therapeutic process and has some insight into their problem & what they feel they need to do to solve it. They don't expect me to have all the answers and understand that we will partner together to achieve their goals- but that they are the ones who have to be motivated to create change.

Andrew is a seasoned therapist of 17 years who has helped to resolve relationship concerns and address addiction issues. Andrew has extensive experience working in the Mental Health field, specifically with anxiety, depression and grief and loss. Andrew's clinical approach involves a goal oriented, brief therapy therapeutic process. Andrew strives to develop positive rapport, identify strengths, and build a sense of hope in the future. Andrew utilizes CBT, Narrative Therapy and Solution Focus as therapeutic models in session.

I describe myself as an "individualized therapist" because I utilize different evidence-based techniques from different theoretic orientations to help my clients because using and applying one theory and one technique does not help a client. A therapist must utilize different modalities and constantly think outside of the box to help his or her clients. Not only that, I believe in collaborative teamwork, and an interactive approach with my clients to get the help that they are seeking.
